Miranda was never really interested in the tales of otherworldly creatures that fascinated her friend Lucy, but then she was turned into an Eternal by the vampire king. Zachary has been Miranda's guardian angel since she was born, but in one thoughtless move he revealed himself and damned her soul forever. Ryan transforms Miranda from a self-conscious theater wannabe to a bloodthirsty vampire princess. Bernstein has the harder job, and he excels at voicing the ageless Zachary as a teenager torn apart by unrequited love. Together the narrators create magic: Listeners will both love and hate Miranda as she drinks her way through Chicago's population, and the suspense is thrilling as Zachary desperately tries to figure out a way to save his undead princess.
